About this training
Bridge the gap between knowing embodiment and leading from it; Learn to bring embodied presence, co-regulation, and somatic intelligence into the therapy room. Through this digital course, you will: - Gain confidence in integrating somatic principles into your practice that lead to powerful results for your clients. - Develop a deeper understanding of what somatic work is and how to use it with clients, so that you're not feeling lost in how to use what skill and when. - Learn effective ways to help your clients drop into their bodies so that they can safely process the emotions that have been keeping them stuck. - Stay grounded in your own body as your client is exploring difficult emotions so that you can attune to exactly what they need in the moment. - Go beyond talking and help your clients access the deeper emotions to experience lasting change. This course is specifically designed for: - Therapists and mental health professionals - Medical professionals - Coaches and wellness practitioners - Yoga instructors, Reiki practitioners, and energy workers - Dance instructors and creatives - Anyone who wants to deepen their knowledge of somatic healing and space holding Course structure and overview: Class 1: Getting to Know Your Somatic Experience This class focuses on your own embodiment as the facilitator. You will gain somatic awareness and connection to your present-moment experience, and learn how to be the embodiment of the safe space you want to create for your clients. You cannot guide someone somewhere that you are not willing to go yourself. This is the foundation. Class 2: Effective Space Holding This class focuses on the necessary skills for effective space holding, and how incorporating the body supports the process of safely accessing deeper emotions. We also explore the challenges and barriers to effective space holding that practitioners often encounter when they begin incorporating somatic work in their practice. Class 3: Observation and Attunement This class focuses on the key principles of somatic attunement and observation so that you can powerfully connect with what your client is feeling, not just what they're saying. You will learn the importance of using your own bodily wisdom in this process, instead of going up into your mind to find the "right" thing to say. Class 4: Your Body As The Greatest Therapeutic Tool This class focuses on how your own body as the facilitator is your greatest therapeutic tool. Too often, when practitioners begin incorporating somatic work for their clients, they forget about their OWN body! This class will shift this perspective so the work you do can support you as much as it supports your clients.
